Media Specialist as Information Specialist

  Reflection:

I created a curated resource list on Plagiarism. I felt this was an important topic that could be used across the curriculum.   I included many beneficial sources in it.  I created an Easybib  tutorial to help show students how to use Easybib.com. I provided step by step directions on how to set up an account and how to cite using Easybib.com. I think this is beneficial for students because the students have to cite sources for all of their research projects.  By correctly citing sources, students can avoid plagiarism.   I feel this is beneficial as a tool because teachers can share it with their students and it can help promote "The Flipped Classroom".

In my Storify, I included Sarah Elaine Easton's post "25 strategies to prevent plagiarism".I think this is beneficial because it doesn’t just state, “Don’t plagiarize!” She offers strategies to help thwart plagiarism.

@Plagiarism3D is a Twitter page that offers daily updates and strategies about plagiarism. It has up to date information and there are frequent posts.

I also have included several instructional videos that provide information on how to cite sources and use information properly.  I use this tool to help support instruction.  Teachers can add this tool to their eClass pages.
